Getting Married? Here is what you need to do!

Please note: We need at least seven months to one year notice prior to a wedding date.

We are here to help you prepare for this special day and most of all to support you on your journey of love and marriage. After scheduling your wedding date, you will be contacted by our Marriage Preparation Ministry and begin your Marriage Preparation process as follows:

  • Attend the orientation mass and meeting.
  • You will be assigned a sponsor couple and meet with them and a group of other engaged couples for 5 sessions including a review of the FOCCUS Premarital Inventory..
  • Atttend the Wedding Music Faire.

The Marriage Prep process is required to marry in the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Wedding Music Faire
This event is held throughout the year as an opportunity for couples to preview the many musical options available to compliment your wedding day.

Engaged Orientation
Engaged couples planning to be married at Holy Family Catholic Communityare asked to attend an orientation with information about our Marriage Preparation program. Couples will learn about the Marriage Preparation Process and hear a presentation on the Theology of Marriage. You will be assigned a sponsor couple and meet with them and a group of other engaged couples for 5 sessions. The FOCCUS Premarital Inventory should be taken prior to the orientation. Engaged Couples Mass - Celebration of the Journey
Engaged couples and their sponsors will be invited to attend the 5:00 mass at Holy Family Catholic Community on the day of their orientation to receive a special blessing..
