ADULT FAITH,HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC COMMUNITY

By creating Adult Faith formation opportunities for the community at various levels, we encourage adults to grow in their knowledge of scripture, traditions of our Catholic faith, lay leadership, and Spiritual Enrichment.

 

All programs are offered at Holy Family Catholic Community, with the exception of some Bible Studies which are held in homes.

OBJECTIVE

 

 

 

BIBLE JOURNEY
This is a weekly Bible Study Program combining one hour of classroom teaching by an experienced instructor and one hour of small group discussion.

Encourage new and experienced participants to engage in an ongoing, in-depth study with an instructor, and sharing of perspective among participants.

Thursday, September-May
9:30am-11:30am or
7:00pm-9:00pm.

BIBLE STUDY GROUPS
Small groups gather to discuss different books of the Bible, or focus on a selected book. Books and DVD’s are available at the Adult Faith Office. Led by adults experienced in scripture. The small group breaks open the word with personal insights.

Gather together with an emphasis on learning to interpret the Bible and share new and personal insights and knowledge of Scripture with the group.

Groups determine their schedule. Usually meet for 1 ½ - 2 hours. Click on Bible Study Groups link for more complete information.

CATHOLIC SCRIPTURE STUDY
Experts in scripture focus and lecture on various themes from the Old or New Testament over a 3 or 4 week series.

To study and develop a deeper and richer personal insight into the meaning of scripture and what it means in our everyday lives.

Held over a 3-4 week period at various times during the year. Two hours long.

GIFTED - Discernment
This is a workshop experience that helps people get in touch with the call of God in their lives. Focus is on your uniqueness to identify the meaning and purpose of your life.

Examine your personality, values, passion, as well as your natural talents and learned skills. What is God’s will for you and not your will for God?

This program, previously known as the CALLED Program offers a two year curriculum consisting of academic courses in scripture, church history, sacraments, worship, evangelization, morality, social teachings, Christology and spirituality, as well as formation and training in leadership skills.

For adults seeking knowledge and spiritual growth to more fully live the call to leadership. Goals include becoming an educated Catholic, faith, enrichment, personal growth, and identifying your gifts.

Program runs from September through May. May register for one year or two years. Thursday, 7:00pm-9:00pm

R.C.I.A./Footsteps, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
R.C.I.A. or Footsteps as it is known at Holy Family is the process through which interested adults are gradually introduced to the Roman Catholic faith and way of life.

For adults who have been baptized in the Catholic religion looking to complete their initial sacrament, adults baptized in another religion looking to become Catholic, and adults who have never been baptized.

Program runs throughout the year fall through spring.

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION (also know as Spiritual Companioning)
Explore your life journey one on one with a caring listener. All spiritual directors are trained professionals with a minimum of two years of course work.

For adults seeking a safe place to share hopes, joys, struggles and losses. Discover how God is present in your life when faced with transitions and difficulties, or to just become closer to God in your daily life. God is in Everything....

Sessions last about an hour. First session is at no charge, followed by donation based on a sliding scale. Click on Spiritual Direction link for more complete information.

SPIRIT JOURNEY
Deepen spiritual awareness of God’s presence in your life. Meet as a group with a trained facilitator. Adults seek to connect spirituality, prayer and living a life of faith.

This is an opportunity for adults desiring guidance to deepen their faith by exploring scripture, prayer styles, peer sharing and theology.

Programs are offered over a six week period, two times a year.

Singles Meeting and
Rejoicing Together

40's + Singles Ministry

A group of singles gather together to plan for social events, outreach opportunites and fellowship.

Meets the first Thursday of the month
in the Multitorium-W
