we welcome you to this unique experience that combines lecture
and small group discussion.
Begins in September 2011 through May 2012.
Thursday, 9:30am-11:30am or 7:00pm-9:00pm.
Presented by: Lisa Mersereau
Begins in September 2011-May 2012, Thursdays, 9:00am or 7:00pm
Each one of the Gospel writers focused upon an aspect of Jesus’ life that the Gospel community felt was important to remember and/or highlight. Since each Gospel was written for a different community of believers, there are four distinct portraits of Jesus. So how do you see Jesus? For Matthew’s community, Jesus was the fulfillment of prophecy, the one sent by God to save the people of Israel. We will be concentrating on Matthew's Gospel. We will begin by looking at: Some of the Old Testament prophecies, focusing on Isaiah; Gospel of Matthew, where we will explore how Jesus fulfilled the prophecies; Infancy narratives of the Gospel of Matthew and Luke.
