What is going on in RCIA? PLEASE JOIN US.
Many adults entering the Catholic Church, or those just thinking about it, are invited to follow a process known as the RCIA — the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. It doesn't matter ifyou were baptized in another faith or if you were baptized a Catholic or weren't baptized at all. We welcome you to come and find out more about the RCIA/Footsteps process. All that we ask is that you contact Bonnie Rooney,847-977-4715, bonroon@aol.com or the Adult Faith Office, Dee at 847-907-3441. Who is RCIA, Footsteps for?
RCIA, Footsteps is meant for Adults who would like to learn more about the Catholic faith. If you have been baptized in the Catholic religion and are looking to complete your initial sacraments, or adults who have been baptized in another religion that are looking to become Catholic, and also adults who have never been baptized and are interested in what the Catholic Church and our parish at Holy Family has to offer.
What is Footsteps and how do I find out more?
We invite you to take the first step. Join with the RCIA, Footsteps team and hear about the process and how you can grow in faith, have your questions answered, and how this experience can make a difference in your life. For additional information, contact anyone from the RCIA Team, listed above. Contact us at any time.
Definitions
Catechumens are unbaptized.
Candidates are those who have been baptized in a Christian tradition which baptizes "WITH THE POURING OF WATER AND IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER AND OF THE SON AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT." Some traditions orchurches baptize with the SPRINKLING OF WATER AND MAYNOT USE THE TRINITARIAN FORMULA. We do not recognize these baptisms.
