Home Mass Checklist::
- Guests invited –You will be contacted a week prior to your mass to get an approximate count.
- Invitations – are available for the Catholic home Mass by calling 847-97-3439 or example on the web. Non-Catholics are welcomed to participate in the mass and receive a blessing.
- Directions – You will be contacted prior to your mass for driving directions for the Presider.
- Proclaimer(s) – Select one or two people to read the first reading and the responsorial Psalm (enclosed). Sometimes there is a 2nd reading.
- Readings/Prayers – you are being provided with the readings for the day. You may prepare your own prayers of the Faithful (special prayer intentions).
- Name Tags (optional) – available from the front office at the church.
- Homily – Fr. Pat likes to take this opportunity to hear from everyone, consider informing your guests ahead of time.
- Altar Cloth – any color, covering the altar
- Candle – At least one candle sitting on the altar. If outside, be sure the candle is protected from the wind.
- Bread & wine– The Presider will bring enough hosts.
- Glass of water – for the Presider
- Chair for the Presider – off to the side of the altar
- Refreshments (optional)
- Music (optional) --There are many options available if you choose this option, we can discuss.
Interruptions- Consider leaving a note on the door for anyone arriving late, instructing them how to find the group. Also consider turning the ringer off on the telephone and asking those that can to turn off their cell phones.
The Presider will bring the chalice, wine & bread.
