Suggestions for Facilitators of Book-Based Awareness Groups

Look at the number of chapters in your book.  Divide the chapters up in terms of reading assignments so that all the chapters are covered during the course of six weeks.  For example: 12 chapters, 2 chapters covered per week.

These are general discussion questions that can be used at every meeting about the chapters being studied and discussed that week.

  1. What struck you most from this week’s assigned reading?
  2. Why do you think it struck you?
  3. What ideas do you find most challenging in the assigned material?
  4. Was there any material you don’t understand that the group could help you with?
  5. Is there any part of the material you find difficult to accept or agree with?
  6. What from the assigned material do you find memorable?
  7. What do you think you will remember and carry with you in the future?
