Fostering Faith is geared primarily for catechists,
but is open to anyone who wishes to further their knowledge of the Catholic faith, even if they are not formally serving in a catechist role.

The Archdiocesan process for Catechist Certification providing structure, content, methods and resources for the formation of catechists leading to Archdiocesan certification in eight critical areas: Catechesis, Scripture, Theology, Moral Life, Sacraments, Prayer, Liturgy and Church.

  • Revelation through Scripture and Tradition
    presented by Fr. Terry Keehan - Sep 13, 20, 27, Oct 4 - 6:45-9:15pm
    This course will present a Catholic understanding of God's self-revelation through Scripture and Tradition. It will examine the structure and content of the Old and New Testaments and the importance of each in Christian life and catechesis.

  • Profession of Faith: Creed
    presented by Fr. George Kane - Oct 20, 27, Nov 3, 10 - 6:45-9:15pm
    This course will lead the learner to an understanding of the Creed as the core theological source of catechesis. It will examine the development of the Church's understanding of the nature of God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as well as other important concepts of our Christian Catholic Faith.


  • The Liturgy of the Church: Sacraments and Prayer
    presented by Colin Collette - Jan 12, 19, 26, Feb 2 - 6:45-9:15pm
    This course invites the participants to examine, understand and appreciate the liturgy of the Church, as it is celebrated through the Sacraments and prayer. Special attention will be given to the Sacraments as sources of God's grace and as a response to God's call to a rich life in the Catholic community.
