Holy Family Parish provides a safe environment for all children and teens who engage in religious education.  All catechists are carefully screened using national and state best practices and standards. Here are the programs that Holy Family Parish uses to safeguard our children and teens.

  • VIRTUS TRAINING...
    What is Virtus?  
    Virtus is a specialized training program for alerting adults to the dangers and red flags of child sexual abuse. Every catechist and volunteer working with children and teens is required to complete a three hour training session.     There is also online continuing Virtus training required after competing the training. To access those sessions, click here.

    Upcoming Virtus Training Sessions at Holy Family:

    May 17 - 9am to Noon
    June 11 - 6 to 9pm
    August 16 - 9am to Noon
    September 13 - 9am to Noon


  • Archdiocese of Chicago Background Checks
    Every catechist and volunteer working with children and teens must agree to complete an online background check click here.

  • State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services
    For additional information about the State of Illinois child abuse and neglect system, click on this link: CANTS (Child Abuse Neglect Tracking System). Please return this form to the Faith Office.

  • Archdiocese of Chicago, Code of Conduct for Children
    The Archdiocese of Chicago has published a Code of Conduct for Church Personnel, that applies to all volunteers who work with children and teens. To read and print a copy of this document, click here. Please return signed page to the Faith Office once completed.
