Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship

Ages 9-14
Can you shoot free throws? Are you at least 10 but not older than 14 as of January 1st, 2011? Are you up for some good fun and competition? If the answer to these questions is “YES”, come and enter the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship.
When you arrive, you will need to fill out a short registration form, including a parent’s signature / permission. Next, you will be given a short warm-up period followed by shooting 15 free throws that will be counted. The person in each group to sink the most baskets out of 15 shots wins.
- Boys age groups (10 & 11) and all Girls age groups will be using an intermediate size ball.
- Boys and Girls age groups (10 & 11) will also be shooting from 12 feet.
NOTE: Any group that is tied at the end of the competition will have a shoot-off.
There will be 10 Champions – one boy and one girl in each of the 5 age groups.
Registration: Anytime after 6:00pm – open shooting until 6:30pm
Cost: It’s FREE, so what do you have to lose?
All contestants will be presented with an official Participant Certificate.
Winners will be presented with an official Council Champion Certificate and an AMC card good for a movie, drink and a bag of popcorn or a box of candy.
Winners will also be invited to participate in the District Competition in February. Keep on winning and you will be invited to participate in the Regional and State Competitions. |
