Paul, a native Aussie, has been the Director of Youth Ministries for 4 years at Holy Family after moving over from St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights where he taught theology, coached cross country and track and was Campus Minister for 9 years. Paul worked for the Catholic Church in Australia for nearly a decade before moving to the states in 97 to marry his American wife Julie. Julie and Paul have three children, Thomas, Ryan and Ella

Paul received his undergraduate degree in education from the Australian Catholic University, majoring in theology and physical education. Paul also received his master’s degree in education and administration with his type 75 certificate from Loyola University in Chicago. Paul leads an awesomely dedicated youth staff at Holy Family.

Eileen has been a long-time member of Holy Family and has participated in numerous ministries.  She attended Loyola University Chicago and received degrees in English and French.

Eileen is married to Fred and worked with him in his orthopedic practice for twenty-four years prior to becoming Associate Director for Junior High School here at Holy Family.

She has two married children, Brian and Kristin, and enjoys spending as much time as possible with her five grandchildren, Taylor, Riley, Charlie, Brennan and Ellie.

The Lavins started as catechists in FLAME small groups in 1996. The Lavins feel truly blessed to work with the teens of Holy Family.

Since then they have participated in leadership; worked behind the scenes with the staff to help form FLAME groups; taught adults and peers how to become more successful in small group; organized retreats; and coordinated parent helpers.

When they are not at Holy Family, Kevin is an avid bike rider--even rides to and from work (150 miles/week). Laurie has a great love for fitness/workouts and also enjoys bead work.

What keeps them here after so many years?!? They have a strong passion to work with the teens of Holy Family Catholic Community. They enjoy watching teens grow in faith and teaching them to keep God as a part of their lives, through prayer, service and justice.

Denise and her family have been parishioners at Holy Family since 2003. She has been involved in the PADS ministry as well as serving as a 5th grade and a high school catechist. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Religious Studies from the University of Iowa in 1988 and has recently completed a master's degree in education from National-Louis University.

Before joining the Holy Family staff in August of 2010, Denise taught preschool and kindergarten at Buffalo Grove Montessori School in Buffalo Grove and 4th grade at Baker Demonstration School in Wilmette. She has also coached and volunteered for her children's numerous activities over the years.

She lives with her husband, Bob, and their three kids, Steven(17), Lauren(15) and Amanda(8) in Palatine along with their two dogs Riley and Otis. She feels blessed to be able to work with the wonderful teens, dedicated youth minister volunteers and awesome staff at Holy Family.
