Eucharist Prep Schedule
Religious Ed Program Registration

During these sessions, children and parents are provided with catechesis on the Sacrament of Reconciliation and also receive the Sacrament during a prayer service. An additional track in fourth grade further prepares students for a one on one confession with a priest. In preparation for receiving the Sacrament (typically in second grade), children and parent(s) attend sessions designed to supplement what students are learning in our parish programs or at Holy Family Catholic Academy.

We strongly encourage your family to regularly attend Mass. This will help reinforce the child’s concept of the Eucharist as central in our understanding of who we are as Catholics. Children are also encouraged to participate in the Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLW) during Mass.

During Masses, First Eucharist candidates are encouraged to come forward at communion time to the Eucharistic Ministers (both the bread and cup) with their arms crossed on their chests. This will be a sign to the minister that the child is preparing for First Eucharist and they will receive a blessing.
