The Multicultural Ministry, hosted our annual fundraiser on Saturday, August 12th. In line with our “Tiki Party” theme, we transformed Holy Family’s courtyard into a Polynesian garden complete with tiki bar, torches, giant paper flowers and pineapples. The weather was gorgeous. The food, a variety of ethnic foods, was delicious. The music was provided by a DJ but the evening was ushered in by a live band of teenagers. Line dancing dominated the night and dancers happily crowded the dance floor. The highlight of the evening was a Hawaiian dance performance by Elise Wu.
The purpose of the event was to raise funds for the ministry’s activities throughout the year. We reached our financial goals but better yet, we made new friends, forged relationships with others and engaged in community building. That was priceless!
